Project summary:
Taxonomy provides basic understanding to improve the knowledge of the biodiversity which is necessary for effective decision-making about nature conservation and sustainable use. The difficulty in species identification is one of the major components of the taxonomic impediment to the sound management of biodiversity. Amaranthaceae is a taxonomically critical family poorly known in many regions of the world. No taxonomic revision was published for N-Africa. We propose the first taxonomic revision of Tunisian Amaranthaceae including nomenclatural, morphological, ecological and chorological data
