emphasis on the biogeographic origin and relationships of endemic taxa.

Project summary:

This proposal requests funding for taxonomic and phylogenetic studies of Elatostema in India to understand the evolution of Asian lineage. This study will reveal the biogeographic patterns and relationships of the genus using phylogenetic approaches. To accomplish this project, IAPT grant would cover the cost of field exploration, herbarium visits, and DNA sequencing.
