Revisiting the family Bryaceae (Bryophyta) in Kerala: A combined morpho-molecular approach

Project summary:

The moss family Bryaceae Rchb. is known for its taxonomic complexity. Recent morpho-molecular studies highlight the polyphyletic nature of the family, necessitating further taxonomic rearrangements. Comparative studies reveal Indian Bryaceae species share similarities with Neotropical and African species, suggesting potential biogeographical connections. To refine my findings, I seek collaboration with Dr. John R. Spence at Deaver Herbarium, a specialist in Bryaceae. This will allow for direct specimen comparisons, statistical analyses, and consultation of type specimens
