Agaricales of the Argentine Atlantic Forest: rediscovery and taxonomic
reassessment
Project summary:
This project aims to document and reassess the diversity of Agaricales in the Argentine Atlantic Forest through an integrative taxonomic approach. Field surveys, herbarium revision, and molecular analyses will be combined to clarify species identities, resolve taxonomic uncertainty, and designate type specimens when needed. Endemic and range-restricted species will be evaluated under IUCN criteria, contributing to a more accurate understanding of fungal diversity and supporting conservation efforts in this biodiversity hotspot.
