Little-known Pantropical Flowering Plants: Unveiling the Phylogenomics of Ternstroemia (Pentaphylacaceae) Mutis ex L.f.

Project summary:

Ternstroemia, a diverse genus of 156 species worldwide, is the most species-rich in Pentaphylacaceae, mainly in the Neotropical Region with 120 species. This project aims to conduct the first global phylogeny of Ternstroemia using Next-Generation Sequencing, addressing taxonomic and phylogenomic gaps to understand its evolution, diversification, and conservation needs.
