The Sloane and Oxford herbarium holds nearly 6000 plant specimens collected from and around Madras, and they are accompanied by vernacular names and use values. Our understanding will be significantly enhanced by comparing those data with the present. This proposal aims to conduct a field work and an ethnobotanical survey to understand the changes over time.
