The evolution of wind dispersion in Asteraceae

Project summary:

We aim to study the relationship between morphological variation in fruit phenotype and wind dispersion ability in asteraceae within a phylogenetic framework. We will obtain field, herbarium and bibliography data on morphometric traits and biomechanical parameters to allow us to answer the question whether exist multiple adaptive optimums of wind dispersial in Asteraceae according to multiple demands of the environment.
