Genetic diversity of Juglans regia germplasm across Iran using cp genome and microsatellite
Project summary:
Persian walnut (Juglans regia L.) is native to the mountain ranges of central Asia. Origin of J. regia is still controversial and remains uncertain. Here, we will use an integrative approach to study the genetic relationship and structure of J. regia sampled out of 20 significant natural populations across Iran by combining genetic, ecological, and geographical data with environmental association analysis and species distribution modeling. We will estimate the genetic diversity and the population genetic structure using nuclear microsatellite data and cp genome.
