Molecular systematics and biogeography of South American Oxalis subg. Thamnoxys (Oxalidaceae).

Project summary:

Despite its wide morphological variation and widespread geographic distribution, Oxalis subg. Thamnoxys, with about 90 spp., has been neglected in evolutionary and systematic studies. In this project I intend to infer phylogenetic relationships among South American species of this group, aiming at updating sectional delimitations, investigating its biogeographic history, and describing potentially new species.
