The project aims to carry out a biogeographic and molecular study of the interspecific relationships of the T. brasiliensis (Pentaphylacaceae) four species complex, endemic from Caatinga, Cerrado and Atlantic Forest (Brazil). This project is part of the "Phylogeny of Ternstroemia and taxonomic revision of the genus for the neotropical region".
