Head of Flora Biodiversity Programme, Forest Biodiversity Division, Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) and Curator of Kepong Herbarium (KEP). Started career in FRIM as forest botanist. Research concentrated on Taxonomy and micromorphology of Peninsular Malaysian and Bornean Malvaceae, Proteaceae, Cornaceae, Oxalidaceae, Erythroxylaceae, and Cunoniaceae. Published more than 140 papers in both the local and international refereed journals, excluding numerous abstracts of oral presentations and posters, reports and editorials. Co-editor of Tree Flora of Sabah and Sarawak and Flora of Peninsular Malaysia.
