Taxonomic and Phylogenetic Revision of Specklinia Lindl. (Pleurothallidinae, Orchidaceae) and Strategies for the Conservation of Species in Brazil
Project summary:
Specklinia Lindl. (Orchidaceae) is a morphologically diverse genus with poorly defined taxonomy in Brazil. This study revises approximately 21 Brazilian species using morphological, geographical, and phylogenetic data, aiming to clarify species boundaries, update descriptions, and provide an identification key through herbarium studies and targeted fieldwork in southeastern Brazil.

I am a Brazilian botanist with a focus on the taxonomy and evolution of flowering plants, particularly within the family Orchidaceae. I am very active in fieldwork, conducting extensive collections for herbaria. Currently, I am a PhD candidate at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), where my research focuses on the phylogeny, biogeography, and taxonomy of the genus Specklinia (Orchidaceae). My work integrates taxonomic, genomic, morphological, and ecological approaches to advance the understanding of plant diversity.
