Characterization, biogeography and character evolution of the South American species of Bonamia Thouars (Convolvulaceae)

Project summary:

Recent molecular studies indicate the need for segregation of Bonamia Thouars (sensu lato), which will split to new genera. The difficulty in circumscribing new taxa involving the lack of exclusive characters makes it necessary to carry out a huge study focusing on species from South America. The aims are the in-depth study of the representatives of Bonamia from the South America, focusing on biogeography and character evolution; to strengthen the taxonomic and phylogenetic knowledge of the genera to be proposed. For molecular phylogeny, DNA extraction, quantification and dilution.
