Evolutionary shifts of ecological strategies in the Neotropical Oxalis subgenus Thamnoxys (Endl.) Reiche emend. Lourteig (Oxalidaceae)

Project summary:

This project examines how ecological strategies evolved in response to envirionmental transitions in the Neotropical Oxalis subgenus Thamnoxys. By reducing geographic and taxonomic sampling bias, it combines genome skimming of previously unsampled species with herbarium-based measurements of Leaf–Height–Seed traits and envirionment characterization. Phylogenetic comparative analyses will test whether transitions between forested and open environments are associated with shifts in ecological strategies inferred from functional traits.
