I propose a deep genome skimming approach to obtain nuclear and plastome data to reconstruct the evolutionary and biogeographic history of the desert genus Fouquieria using herbarium specimens. Furthermore, to explore the influence of Baja California’s complex geological history on the genetic diversity and phylogeographic dynamics of two polyploid endemics.
