Morphological evolution, taxonomy, and biogeography of Pappophorinae (Poaceae: Chloridoideae)

Project summary:

Understanding the processes that facilitate the transition and colonization of taxa in new environments is essential for comprehending the high biological diversity in the neotropical region and elucidating diversification mechanisms affecting plant lineages. We aim to perform a phylogenetic and character reconstruction of the subtribe Pappophorinae to better understand its relationships and evolutionary processes. Additionally, a biogeographic reconstruction will be conducted to infer the group's origin and species colonization routes.
