Systematics and historical biogeography of Nissolia (Leguminosae, Papilionoideae, Dalbergieae): Evolutionary processes and the colonization of Seasonally Dry Tropical Forests

Project summary:

The Neotropical liana genus Nissolia (Leguminosae) comprises 31 known species. Its species are distributed mainly along seasonally dry tropical forests (SDTFs) and bears different fruit morphology. In this project, we study the phylogeny, systematics, and evolution of the genus and use it as a model to understand the SDTFs biogeography.
