Objective:
The proposal is aiming to mount, label and document the already collected precious specimens (i.e. Angiosperms, Gymnosperms, Pteridophytes, Bryophytes and Lichen species) in order to make them available as a reference material for future research in the field of Biology.

Project Activities/Plan to Achieve Objective/Targets
Fortunately, Herbarium staff and about 10 students are willing to offer their volunteer services in the proposed project.
Initially, official formalities i.e. account opening/ fund transfer, purchasing of required material and other related targets will be carried out. Four teams will be established. Three volunteer students will included in each group and each will be supervised by a herbarium member/staff. Details are as below:
2.1. Group A: Dr. Abdul Majid will lead this group. This group will be responsible to processing the Angiosperm herbarium material.
2.2. Group B: Dr. Ghulam Mujtaba Shah will lead this group to processing collected Gymnosperm and Pteridophyte material.
2.3. Group C: This group will be supervised by Dr. Alia Gul to processing bryophyte material.
Group D: Dr. Muhammad Fiaz will lead this group for Lichen material.
All specimens will be properly mounted, labeled and documented as per international standards. We are aiming to provide on/in resources i.e. digitalize our herbarium (HUP) in future, and this will be the first concrete step towards this goal. Timetable:
This project will be completed within six (6) months. Month-wise concise details are as under:
1st Month: Account opening/transfer of amount;Purchasing required material as per the proposed budget.
2nd Month: Mounting of specimens
3rd Month: Mounting of specimens will be continued
4th Month: Mounting of specimens will be continued
5th Month: Documentation in the Recording register/computer
6th Month: Placing/ conserving of the prepared specimens in their respective cabinets/shelves
