IH Code

Objective:

Digitize images from the entire Fiocruz's Botanical Collection of Medicinal Plants in order to generate subsidies for correct botanical identification and traceability of medicinal plants used in Fiocruz Research, Development and Innovation (PD&I) projects following the precepts of the National Policy of Medicinal Plants and Phytotherapics and aiming the safe and rational use of these plants.

Plan:

Through a partnership agreement already signed between the Fiocruz's Botanical Collection of Medicinal Plants and the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden Research Institute, we can offer, as counterpart, the use of the RB herbarium image digitization station.
The present project aims to hire specialized personnel to perform the image digitization of CBPM’s exsicates using the RB herbarium equipment; as both herbaria lack personnel to perform this activity.
The hired professional should perform the maintenance of 1553 exsicates registered at the CBPM herbarium, transport them to the RB herbarium, scan the images, transport the exsiccates back to the CBPM herbarium and link the images to the records already available in the JABOT software. The images will also be available on Virtual Herbarium of Flora and Fungus (HVFF - INCT) and the data on SiBBr and GBIF.
