Objective:

1) Intensify collections and studies in the Iguaçu National Park;
2) Contribute to the “Flora do Brasil” project, with the participation of specialists and making images of their specimens and databases available for consultation for all interested publics;
3) Adapting the physical space for maintenance of the collection.

Plan:

1) Several groups are being studied by undergraduate and graduate students with proponent participation in the Iguaçu National Park, such as: Acanthaceae, Asteraceae, Bignoniaceae, Lamiales, Cyperaceae, Fabaceae, Melastomataceae, Moraceae, Myrtaceae, Orchidaceae, Poaceae, Rubiaceae, Salicaceae and Verbenaceae. There are about 1,000 species in the Park and these results were presented at the 70 National Congress of Botany (https://70cnbot.botanica.org.br) and intends to publish this data on the platform “O Catálogo de Plantas das Unidades de Conservação do Brasil” (https://catalogo-ucs-brasil.jbrj.gov.br/);
2) Continue participating in the “Flora do Brasil” project, with updates and publication of the Flora with the families of their specialties (https://www5.unioeste.br/portalunioeste/cascavel/centros/ ccbs/herbario-unop) and providing real-time image of the specimens incorporated into the collection (http://reflora.jbrj.gov.br/reflora/herbarioVirtual). The equipment currently used to capture images are in partnership with another university, located 180 km from Cascavel and the capture of the images are planned every three months.
3) Recently with approved resources are being built rooms for the activities of the herbarium, which includes labs for identification, sample drying room and the largest of them (60m2) needs to be air-conditioned for the storage of the collection. Resources are being requested to adapt the space to where the entire collection will be transferred.

Timetable:

Monthly collections were performed through June and work on species determinations in the second half 2020. Provide real-time imaging of specimens incorporated into the collection and the new space will be finished, adjustments will be required before transferring the collection to it (Table 1).
