Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias. Universidad Nacional de Jujuy. San Salvador de Jujuy. Juuy.

Objective:

1-Modernization of the existing database.
2-Reform the plant processing cabinet: herbal, numbered, dried, duplicate, original and original copies only.
3-Change the procedure to keep the original copies, to be located in the herbarium.
4-Make improvements necessary to expand and completely isolate within the faculty the surface occupied by the herbarium. This objective also ensures the complete protection of all persons outside the herbarium.
5-Increase the number of metal lockers.

Plan:

1-Acquire current hardware and software to replace those in use. To choose the right equipment you have to meet current needs and others that will be implemented later as the generation of digital images of specimens. Our tendency is to use the one used by the CTES, IBODA and CORD Herbaria. For a time our database was connected with those of these institutions. For reasons that escaped our will, it could not be followed.
2-To achieve this goal, we have available a larger cabinet, which is currently being used as a warehouse. This second objective will be accomplished by executing small building and other reforms.
3-One of the priorities in this plan is to change the procedure to keep the original copies. The current one, implemented by CTES, IBODA and CORD, will be expensive for our herbarium.
Our proposal is to build a metal cabinet. This piece of furniture that will remain tightly closed until the poison has acted completely in the original specimens. (*)
4-To fulfill this objective we have a space assigned by the faculty exclusively for the herbarium. We have to make necessary improvements to expand and completely isolate it, from the rest of other faculty units.
5-Buy metal herbal keepers, necessary to comfortably distribute the original copies.

Timetable:
