TAXONOMY AND CONSERVATION OF FLORA OF THE PARNAÍBA DELTA ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AREA, NORTH COAST OF BRAZIL
Project summary:
The HDELTA contains approximately 7,300 specimens and contemplates, especially, the local flora which includes the delta of the Rio Parnaíba, an important centre of biodiversity on the northern coast of Brazil still only superficially explored field for biological research. Inventory studies based on field collections are still only at an early phase and increasing the existing reference herbarium collections, and their correct determination are fundamentally important. This proposal focuses on improvement and online dissemination of permanent reference collections and training of students.
