Madrid Code Online

The International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants, known as “the Code,” is the set of internationally agreed rules and recommendations that govern the naming of these organisms.

 

This is the interactive, online edition of the Madrid Code.

The Madrid Code is the current edition of the Code and reflects the decisions made at the Twentieth International Botanical Congress held in Madrid, Spain, in July 2024.

The print edition of the Madrid Code was published by the University of Chicago Press on 21 July 2025 as volume 162 of IAPT's book series Regnum Vegetabile.
