Determing species boundaries and testing for ecological speciation within the Silene complex of Northern California

Project summary:

There is a notable gap in knowledge for the Silene hookeri complex, which is made up of 5 taxa in the genus Silene that are found in Northern California. These taxa have an affinity for serpentine soil and because of their high rate of diversification, they make an important complex to study ecological speciation events. I aim to clarify taxonomic boundaries within the complex and test for a case of budding speciation using phylogenetics and morphometrics.
