Chemotaxonomic and phylogenomic studies in Physalideae (Solanaceae)
Project summary:
I propose to sample representatives of Physalideae subtribes in order to find chemotaxonomic markers that support the phylogenetic hypothesis and classification in the tribe. I will revise Physalideae collections in herbaria and databases, sample at least 3 genera per subtribe and Analyze the content of important medicinal compounds known as withanolides in these taxa using a phylogenomic freamework.
