Insights into the taxonomy and conservation of Xylopia africana (Annonaceae) and its presence in Nigeria
Project summary:
Xylopia Africana (Benth.) Oliv. belongs to the family Annonaceae and has significant medicinal uses. The species has a narrow distribution range and is largely unknown by local people in Nigeria. Therefore, it is important to reassess the distribution of the species and collect voucher specimens for further taxonomic identification of this vulnerable species. The broad aim of this work is to explore the distribution, conservation status, and improve the taxonomic identification of X. africana in Nigeria
