This study is the first integrative taxonomic revision of the fern family Lindsaeaceae in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, combining morphological, anatomical, and molecular approaches. It examines the gametophyte and sporophyte stages, rhizome and stipe anatomy, and phylogenetic relationships. By analyzing community distributions, the research will uncover fern life cycle dynamics and may develop a novel IUCN extinction risk assessment guideline. This study could provide a crucial foundation for fern taxonomy, ecology, and conservation in Southeast Asia’s threatened biodiversity hotspots.
