The evolutionary history of Potamogeton (Potamogetonaceae): solving the enigma of East Asian cytotypes

Project summary:

This project aims to clarify the evolutionary history of Potamogeton. Numerous chromosome counts from the Russian Far East violate the accepted concept of Potamogeton evolution. We plan to check these counts via flow cytometry using own field material and local herbaria and subsequently tie them together with DNA sequencing data.
