Study of macroevolutionary processes in the Poales order - Insights into its morphological evolution.

Project summary:

Poales ranks among the richest orders of angiosperms in species, representing over a third of all monocots. Although the factors influencing the geographic diversification of the order are under discussion in the literature, the gaps related to the evolution of morphology and pollination that underlie the history of Poales remain largely unclear. The broad distribution patterns, evolutionary history, and high morphological diversity of Poales indicate that the group serves as an excellent model for studying macroevolutionary patterns that have influenced its current diversity.
