Project summary:
I will conduct a phylogenetic analysis with a comprehensive taxon sampling of Paepalanthus subg. Platycaulon and test biogeographic hypotheses regarding its disjunct distribution pattern. Specifically, I will investigate whether Central South American connectivity facilitated the dispersal of the group from Brazil to the Andean region during the Last Glacial Maximum.
