Taxonomic Revision of Papaver in the Flora of Ethiopia and Eritrea

Project summary:

A recent study by Gebrehiwot (2020) recorded a third species of Papaver, which was not previously reported in the flora of Ethiopia and Eritrea. Papaver aff. decaisnei Hochst. ex Steud (Papaveraceae) was recorded from the Afroalpine Belt. The aim of this research is to describe and classify the claimed species based on morphological and molecular attributes and produce a taxonomic key for the species in particular and the genus in general in the flora of Ethiopia and Eritrea. This will be accompanied by illustrating the key taxonomic characters.
