Towards a monograph of the large genus Myrcia DC. (Myrtaceae): assessing phylogenetic and infra-generic placement of Amazonian marliereoid species

Project summary:

This project focuses on generating molecular data to clarify the infra-generic and phylogenetic placement of 24 marliereoid species of Myrcia (Myrtaceae) from Amazonia, a knowledge gap in the genus. Funds received will also allow a visit to the major herbarium K and interactions with Eve Lucas, a notable Myrtaceae specialist.
