An updated phylogeny of rapid-radiated Guapira-Neea clade (Nyctaginaceae: Pisonieae) and a taxonomic revision for Brazilian taxa
Project summary:
Pisonieae (Nyctaginaceae) is a pantropical tribe of nine genera, including Guapira Aubl. and Neea Ruiz & Pav., which lack clear delimitation. Molecular phylogenies suggest their intermixing, but poor sampling limits resolution. Expanding phylogenomic analyses and revising Brazilian species are crucial, as misidentifications persist, and unidentified specimens may represent new taxa, also requiring an updated taxonomic reassessment.
