Palaeobotany of Miocene plants from Sarawak, Malaysia: Did dipterocarps thrive yet in Borneo?

Project summary:

Did dipterocarps thrive in Borneo during the Miocene? No dipterocarps macrofossils were reported yet, and only dipterocarp-pollens were reported from the Oligocene of NW Borneo. With pollens easily dispersible, they may be originated outside of Borneo. This study will seek the answer using systematic study of central Sarawak dipterocarps macrofossils.
