Burasaieae Endl. is one of the largest tribes of the Menispermaceae family, with distribution in South and Central America, Africa, Indomalaysia, and Asia. It is composed of 24 genera and approximately 139 species, characterized by anatropous ovules, compressed endocarps, navicular seeds, and drupes with a stylar scar. In Brazil, the tribe is represented by three endemic genera, with great diversity, particularly Disciphania and Odontocarya.
