Systematics & Floral evolution of Wunderlichioideae (Asteraceae), a South America endemic subfamily
Project summary:
The subfamily Wunderlichioideae is a basal lineage of the Asteraceae family, comprising 37 species distributed across four genera: Wunderlichia, Chimantaea, Stenopadus, and Stomatocheta. In this study, we aim to develop a robust phylogenetic hypothesis for Wunderlichioideae and identify synapomorphies of the subfamily through the morphological evolution of its flowers.
