“Understanding the Evolutionary Relationships in the Genus Paspalum L. (Poaceae)”
Project summary:
Paspalum L. comprises around 350 species distributed mainly in the tropical and subtropical Americas, with high diversity and endemism in Brazil. Despite its ecological and agronomic importance, species limits and evolutionary relationships remain poorly resolved. This project integrates phylogenetic and morphological evidence with extensive herbarium studies to refine taxonomy and clarify species relationships.
