Systematics and the evolution of the genus Aspalathus L. (Crotalarieae, Fabaceae)

Project summary:

This study examines the diversification and adaptation of Aspalathus, which is essential for understanding global biodiversity. Using the resources of the PAFTOL project, it uses phylogenomic analysis with the Angiosperms353 probe set to clarify the relationships of Aspalathus and address taxonomic challenges. This aligns closely with Kew's Science Strategy, particularly Initiative 4.1, Documenting Biodiversity, and strengthens Kew's ability to fill taxonomic and phylogenetic gaps in the plant kingdom.
