Systematic studies in the genus Tillandsia (Bromeliaceae) in Mexico and the relevance for its conservation

Project summary:

Contribute to the systematic knowledge of Tillandsia, supported by field, herbarium, and laboratory work to clarify taxonomic delimitation of species, generate taxonomic treatments, propose hypothesis of phylogeny based on total evidence as well as divergence times of the Mexican species, increase the institutional botanical collections, and propose a list of vulnerable species to include in some risk categories.
