Integrative taxonomy applied to species delimitation of extra-Amazonian Tapanhuacanga Vell. ex Vand. (= Psyllocarpus Mart. & Zucc.) (Rubiaceae: Spermacoceae)

Project summary:

Tapanhuacanga (=Psyllocarpus) is an endemic Brazilian genus of the tribe Spermacoceae (Rubiaceae). The newest Tapanhuacanga phylogenies unveil some challenges concerning species relationships and circumscriptions. Here, combining morphometrics, leaf anatomy and phylogenomics, along with Herbaria visits, field work, taxonomic and methodological training, we aim to improve species delimitation of extra-Amazonian Tapanhuacanga.
