Revision of The Genus Rhododendron in Java, Indonesia Based on Morphological and Molecular Studies.

Project summary:

Rhododendron taxonomy studies in Java have been carried out through revisions carried out by Sleumer (1960), Backer et al 1968, & Argent (2006; 2015). However, the revisions that have been made are based on morphological studies. Where it is known that both Backer et al (1968) & Argent (2006; 2015) follow the revisions made by Sleumer (1960). On the other hand, Craven (2014) stated that the concept of species boundaries created by Sleumer needs to be considered for several species whose species boundaries are too broad for example Rhododendron javanicum.
