Phylogeny and taxonomic revision of the amazonian clade of Nautilocalyx Linden (Gesneriaceae).
Project summary:
The genus Nautilocalyx (Gesneriaceae) has about 50 species spreading from Central America through the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. Recent studies have indicated the non-monophyly of the group, and the need for more species sampling and taxonomic revision. The genus has species from at least 6 different lineages and one of these lineages, named “Nautilocalyx Amazonian clade”, include the Brazilian species. This project intends to study this clade of Nautilocalyx, increase the sampling of taxa and carry out a taxonomic review of this group. DNA sequences will be extracted and amplified,
