Assessing genome size and GC content evolution and its implications on Hechtioideae (Bromeliaceae, Poales) diversification
Project summary:
This study focuses on generating new cytogenetic data for the bromeliad subfamily Hechtioideae. It aims to explore differences in genomic size and GC content in this bromeliad lineage, and investigate if there is a link between colonization of xeric environments and genomic changes within the subfamily.
