Growth form, synflorescence architecture, and pappus ornamentation in the circumscription of Critoniopsis (Asteraceae)
Project summary:
Critoniopsis (~ 80 spp.) is a Neotropical woody genus of scramblers, shrubs, and trees in lowlands and highlands. Despite being described in 1863, its identity faded into obscurity for over a century. Growth form, synflorescence architecture, and pappus ornamentation are key proposed characters to improve its taxonomy.
