Systematics of Indian subcontinent Rotala L. (Lythraceae)

Project summary:

The proposed study Systematics of Indian subcontinent Rotala L. (Lythraceae), is the applicants Ph.D. project. The research aims to 1) conduct a comprehensive phylogenetically-informed taxonomic revision of Rotala, 2) to understand evolutionary relationship of species through molecular phylogenetic analysis, and 3) assessment of morphological trait evolution. The IAPT grant will be used for herbarium visits, the travel expenses to conduct field work in countries of Indian subcontinent, and part of it will be utilized for sequencing
