UNCOVERING THE DIVERSITY OF VELLOZIA VAND. (VELLOZIACEAE) IN CENTRAL BRAZIL: SYSTEMATICS AND CONSERVATION OF AN ICONIC PLANT GROUP FROM NEOTROPICAL HIGHLANDS

Project summary:

Given the scarcity of studies on Vellozia outside the Espinhaço Range and recognizing the potential for diversity and endemism in the mountain areas of Central Brazil, this project aims to improve understanding of the taxonomy and conservation of Vellozia species in this region, highlighting the richness of this group, which is characteristic of the Cerrado.
