Diversity, taxonomy and evolutionary history of the ferns Hymenophyllaceae in China

Project summary:

With 2,147 species of ferns and lycophytes, including 839 endemics, China presents a significant challenge in biodiversity estimation. Our project focuses on Hymenophyllaceae, a fern family with 68 species documented in China, accounting for 10% of the global family diversity. We aim to explore this diversity across mainland and island China to elucidate the evolutionary patterns and processes driving this diversity. Our approach integrates taxonomy, molecular phylogeny, biogeography, and diversification studies.
