Collection of Mexican members of the Galphimia clade: unravelling the diversity and evolution of floral glands in the clade.

Project summary:

The large oil-secreting glands of the Neotropical Malpighiaceae may be absent or occur in smaller size or lower number in Galphimia clade, similar to many Paleotropical lineages. We here request the IAPT support for collect Galphimia in its centre of diversity in Mexico, in order to unravel the morphology, anatomy and evolution of floral glands in this key clade of the family.
