Exploring the Taxonomic Diversity of Stereocaulon (Lichenized Ascomycota) and their Associated Green Algal Photobionts on Réunion Island

Project summary:

Réunion is one of the global biodiversity hotspots. Among others, it hosts many species of lichens. Based on promising preliminary results, I decided to investigate the diversity of Stereocaulon lichens and their highly diverse green algal photobionts using multigene phylogenetic analyses of both symbionts, microscopic and other standard lichenological methods.
