Evolution and morphological diversification of the polyploid complex group Linum suffruticosum s.l
Project summary:
This project aims to examine the extensive cytogenetic and morphological diversity within the Linum suffruticosum s.l. group and its implications for the group's evolutionary history across the Mediterranean basin. The objectives include identifying and describing herbarium specimens, listing morphological differentiation characters, assessing the potential of ploidy level and chromosome number as diagnostic traits, and reconstructing the evolutionary history considering the geological and climatic context.
